Summary
This paper proposes a sequential exploratory diagnostic model for ordered response data, extending the Pólya-gamma data augmentation strategy to handle multiple response categories through a logit-link at the category level. The approach uses efficient Gibbs sampling for estimation and fills a gap in cognitive diagnostic modeling by supporting ordinal (not just binary) item responses without requiring the latent structure to be specified in advance.
